The LMC movement screen.

Learn to move the way evolution intended, rather than the way modern living has adapted you.

LMC Movement Screen (Available with Adam only)

How does the LMC movement screen work?

There are certain principals to the way we move. The screen is a standardised test based on the principals of good functional movement. After completing the screen your results are processed and given to you in the form of a written report. The screen is based on strict marking criteria. This means that after a period of corrective exercise/therapy the improvements can be tracked and analysed.

What benefit could the LMC Movement screen be to me?

The LMC movement screen identifies dysfunctional movement patterns before they become a problem. With this information we can develop exercises and strategies which will reduce the chance of future injury and help you perform better. Your body will learn how to function the way evolution intended and not the way it has adapted to your modern life style. In summary the benefits are:

  • Improve functional fitness & athletic performance
  • Establish a starting point and realistic goals
  • Create a completely personalized fitness plan
  • Identify dangerous weaknesses BEFORE injury occurs
  • Identify and resolve movement problems
  • Build lasting fitness instead of temporary ability
  • Measure and establish a record of progress

Who would benefit from the screen?

It is most suitable for people who have consistent niggles or regular injuries that they don't seem to be able to resolve completely. Or people who are preparing to take on a physical challenge beyond what their body is used to. Importantly the screen will only be of benefit to people who are motivated to follow the exercise advice. If you currently exercise quite hard  you may be required to significantly modify or even stop your other exercises (especially weights work) to allow the new movement patterns to develop.

Who would not benefit from the screen?

It is important to remember that the screen is not a diagnostic tool. It is not suitable for people who are in pain. It only identifies compromised movement patterns and suggests corrective strategies. People who are in pain need a specific diagnostic assessment.

The Process

The screening process is split into 4 stages:

  • Testing - Your ability to complete the fundamental movement patterns is tested.
  • Evaluation - You will be scored for your performance of each test
  • Analysis / Planning - The results will be analyzed and a series of corrective exercises will be recommended based on your scores.
  • Monitoring - After 4 weeks of performing the corrective exercises we will re-test and re-assess.

The screen takes a long term view to help you get the most out of your fitness regimen and achieve your greatest potential whilst reducing the risk of injury.
